Bungie has announced today that they will be changing a pair of gauntlets in Destiny 2 due to the similarity of an alt-right symbol.

“It’s come to our attention that a gauntlet in Destiny 2 shares elements with a hate symbol. It is not intentional. We are removing it,” the company said on Twitter this afternoon. “Our deepest apologies. This does NOT represent our values, and we are working quickly to correct this. We renounce hate in all forms.”

Bungie has not specified the gauntlets in question, but some Redditors became quickly noticed the one in question. The ones pictured above fit the bill, and they resemble the symbol on the Kekistan flag. Which is an alt-right symbol based on Nazi symbology:

The word 'kek' originates from World of Warcraft, where it was spawned as a meme. Since then, it has changed significantly. It is been used as a symbol of white nationalism and has been used during various rallies.

Bungie has not noted any decision to remove the gauntlets or to simply alter the design entirely.
